Today I want to scream out about Lyme and what it is doing to people in this country, especially the children. I just heard of an acquaintance who has struggled with Lyme for so long, improved greatly and then relapsed. It reminds me that I need to keep "fighting the good fight." I'm recommending a song for today with the thought that we have to keep talking about this disease, not because we should wallow in self pity, but because we need to fight for what is right.
So listen to this song for some inspiration... I prefer to put the IDSA at both ends of the table in the video. Rather than being about a bad relationship like this video, our fight is with the Infectious Disesases Society of America and other doctors who remain in denial about the seriousness of Lyme Disease.
Learn to live with what you do have left. They can break your body, but they can never break your spirit. Get the ox out of the mire and continue to fight for what is right. Never stop shouting from the rooftops! Someday there will be validation and that burden will be lifted off our shoulders. Keep your head up. =)
